Quick chocolate chili cakes

The combination of hot chilies and dark chocolate is amazing. After rich chocolate taste comes warmth from the chili powder. My top quick chocolate recipe. You can turn to it when the time for preparation a cake is limited. Also this can serve for more than just two people:)

Yield: 2 servings


3 tablespoons freshly squeezed orange juice
6 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 eggs
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
3 tablespoons brown sugar
8 tablespoons wheat flour
1/4 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
pinch of salt
50 g dark chocolate chunks


Preheat the oven to 180 C. In a small bowl combine flour, cocoa powder, salt, sugar, chili and baking powder. Whisk in the eggs, vegetable oil and orange juice until all ingredients are combined and batter has no clumps.

Spoon mixture into the 2 ceramic baking cups. Dip the chocolate chunks into the batter. Bake for 15 minutes or until the toothpick inserted in the cake comes out clean. Let it cool for a few minutes and serve.
