Tomato, Mozzarella and Basil Plate (Caprese Salad)

Caprese is truly an amazing summer dish when the tomatoes are at their pick. It’s juicy, refreshing, flavourful, and so simple! Only 10 minutes and just a few ingredients! Magic!:)

Serves 2-3
Takes 10 minutes


3 tomatoes
130 g fresh mozzarella cheese
fresh basil leaves
extra-virgin olive oil, for drizzling
coarse salt
freshly ground pepper
balsamic vinegar, for drizzling (optionally)


Cut the tomatoes and cheese into slices of desirable thickness (mine were slightly thick). Alternate the tomato slices on plates/on one large platter with mozzarella to create overlapping effect. Arrange basil leaves onto or between the slices. Drizzle with olive oil (and balsamic vinegar, if desirable). Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve as a lunch or side dish! Enjoy!:)
